A 15-year-old student of Ada Senior High Technical School (ASTECH), Monde Konedu Agyemang, has died after reportedly collapsing during a sporting activity organised as part of the school’s Girls’ Education Week celebration.
The tragic incident occurred on Thursday, October 15, 2026, the same day the student celebrated her 15th birthday. She was immediately rushed to Sege Polyclinic for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Ada Senior High School Student’s Cause of Death Under Investigation
The Ada West District Director of Education, Dr Stephen Arthur, has confirmed that the cause of the student’s death remains unknown.
According to him, arrangements are underway for an autopsy to determine the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of the young student.
Dr Arthur disclosed that Monde Konedu Agyemang had enrolled at Ada Senior High Technical School approximately three weeks before the incident. He added that no known medical condition had been declared on her school admission form.

Following the incident, the deceased student’s body was transferred to the General Hospital as police investigations continue.
