Dr. Clement Abass Apaak, Deputy Minister of Education, has praised exceptional candidates in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and encouraged them to maintain integrity and discipline while pursuing their future goals.
At the WAEC Distinction Awards Ceremony, which took place at Sakyi Asare-Menako Hall in Accra, the Deputy Minister gave a keynote speech on behalf of the Minister for Education, praising the recipients for their tenacity and commitment to academic success.
He pointed out that the students’ accomplishments were a result of their perseverance and the many hours they dedicated to their studies, recognising the important role that teachers played in influencing the students’ success.

Speaking about matters pertaining to the education sector, Dr. Apaak voiced alarm over the increasing instances of exam malpractice at certain educational institutions.
He emphasised that in order to preserve the legitimacy of national exams, all parties involved must cooperate.
He promised that in order to protect the integrity of the examination system and uphold the nation’s high academic standards, the Ministry of Education would keep working closely with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
