Six Ghana Premier League players have been included to Ghana’s 23-man team for an international friendly against Mexico, as preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup continue.

Solomon Agbasi (Hearts of Oak), Gidios Aseako (Dreams FC), Ebenezer Adade (Dreams FC), Razak Simpson (Nations FC), Ebenezer Abban (Heart of Lions), and Salim Adams (Medeama SC) have all been named in the team by head coach Carlos Queiroz in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the domestic league.

On Friday, May 22, 2026, the Black Stars will play Mexico in an important warm-up match designed to hone the team before the world championship.

As Ghana prepares its team for the competition, the technical team’s plan to combine domestic talent with foreign-based pros is highlighted by the inclusion of the six locally based players.

On June 2, Ghana will meet Wales in a second practice match before competing in the World Cup.

The United States, Canada, and Mexico will co-host the competition, which the West African country will attend for the fifth time.

Ghana, drawn in Group I, will play their first match on June 17 against Panama, then play a high-profile match against England on June 23 before finishing the group stage on June 27 against Croatia.
