The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has assured mining investors that Ghana will maintain clear regulations, fair administration and a stable business environment as the government reforms the country’s mineral governance system.

Speaking at the 2026 Mining in Motion Conference on Monday, October 19, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to respecting lawful agreements, engaging openly with industry players and creating favourable conditions for sustainable mining investments.

Mr Buah acknowledged that investors need regulatory certainty, predictable policies and commercially viable projects to generate reasonable returns. He said the government would continue collaborating with mining companies to protect investments while improving the sector’s contribution to Ghana’s economic development.

However, he stressed that the benefits of mining must extend beyond corporate profits to include employment opportunities, skills training, local business development and environmental protection.

According to the Minister, Ghanaians deserve a fair share of the wealth generated from the country’s mineral resources, alongside stronger opportunities for local enterprises and mining communities.

He urged investors to align their operations with Ghana’s national development priorities and build partnerships that benefit both businesses and host communities.

Mr Buah reiterated that the ongoing mining sector reforms are designed to strengthen mineral resource management, promote responsible mining and ensure that the country derives greater economic and social benefits from its natural resources.

The government, he added, remains committed to constructive engagement with investors while pursuing a mining industry that supports job creation, sustainable investment and long-term national development.
