Seth Gyimah, a boxer from Ghana popularly known as Freezy Macbones, hit a roadblock in his attempt to earn a spot in the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
On Saturday, September 9, 2023, Freezy Macbones lost to Seydou Konate of Senegal in a middleweight qualifying match by a points decision.
Unfortunately, Freezy Macbones’ amateur debut prevented him from moving on in the qualifying rounds, putting an end to his hopes of representing Ghana at the Olympics.
He was the first of seven boxers from Ghana who were expected to compete in these qualifiers.
Alfred Kotey, David Bawah, Asarah Apew, Theophilus Allotey, and Abdul Wahab are the other Ghanaian boxers who are still vying for a spot in the Olympics.
