National Democratic Congress (NDC) Odododiodio parliamentary candidate Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye has withdrawn from the campaign.
The incumbent MP has not declared his candidacy for the later this month’s primary election.
Nii Adjebu Lamptey, the chairman of the NDC Election Committee for the Odododiodio Constituency, stated in an interview with Citi FM on Wednesday that three candidates had declared for the election set for October 31, 2023.
He warned party supporters in the area to exercise caution in their public statements during the elections.
“NDC members and supporters, what we are doing now is internal competition, and we pray that all of them will comport themselves so that we can have a peaceful election. The filing of nominations has been very peaceful, and we expect that it will continue like that. On Friday there will be vetting at the regional party office, and on October 31, the elections will come on as planned.”
