Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) beneficiaries have informed the government of their nine-month arrears.
The NABCO beneficiaries, who have not yet received their allowances under the government’s flagship program, claim that doing so would be “very terrible” given the nation’s current economic climate.
“The program has been beneficial, but if care is not taken to redress the outstanding payment issues, the pain suffered by trainees will swallow the gains by the initiative on the case of the current administration,” said a statement released on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, signed by its National President, Dennis Katakyie.
Also pleading with the government, the president of NABCO beneficiaries said, “Settle the nine months arrears to bring some respite to beneficiaries.”
Failure to pay the arrears would “leave an irreversible scar to tarnish the good deeds of government so far as the scheme is concerned,” according to the statement.
