The government’s One District One Factory (1D1F) program secured tax exemptions totaling roughly $335,072,712.13 for 42 enterprises, thanks to procedures started by the Ministry of Finance in 2021.
The Exemptions Act, 2022 (Act 1083) was introduced to Parliament in 2022 by Ken Ofori-Atta, the former Minister of Finance.
Sentuo Oil Refinery Limited stands out among the businesses expecting these exemptions, having requested the largest sum of $164,633,012.00.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s 1D1F plan is to strengthen Ghana’s manufacturing, value-added manufacturing, and processed goods export sectors while reducing the country’s reliance on the import and export of raw materials.
The private sector is spearheading this movement, while the government offers a conducive business climate to the enterprises.
This aid includes making it easier to obtain financing from banks and providing support from different government organizations to help start factories.
