A modern 24-hour service center has been opened by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in Adentan, close to Accra, in accordance with the government’s public service transformation program.
To accommodate the various needs of the driving public, the new office will provide all DVLA services pertaining to driver licensing and car registration.
The opening of the Adentan Office makes the DVLA one of the foremost public institutions to operationalise the Government’s 24-Hour Economy Policy.
At the inaugural ceremony, DVLA Chief Executive Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey stated that the Adenta Office and its amenities were a deliberate step to improve customer experience and service accessibility.
He stated that the DVLA will fulfill its mission to make its services easily accessible to the public, regardless of their location, and that the addition of Adenta meant that the authority now has 35 locations nationwide.
“This facility will serve as a centre of excellence, providing a full range of DVLA services—vehicle registration, driver licensing, renewals, compliance and enforcement, driver testing, and vehicle inspections—operating on a 24-hour basis,” he said.
Mr. Kotey stated that in support of the national campaign against illegal mining, the DVLA was making every effort to create procedures for registering excavators entering the nation.
He stated that the Authority had implemented a new sticker-based DP identification system to prevent the misuse of aluminum DP plates, which had been issued as part of attempts to boost revenue.

The Transport Minister, Mr. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, praised the DVLA for supporting the government’s initiative to reform the transportation industry.
He said he was confident the public would benefit from the decentralization of the DVLA’s operations.
The operationalization of the 24-hour service, according to the minister of transportation, would help stop people from using valuable working hours to obtain necessary public services.
According to Deputy Chief of Staff in Charge of Administration Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, the President is committed to fulfilling his pledges to the people, and the nation would undergo a reset in a number of areas.
In addition to promising that the President will consistently answer to the public and show his commitment to resetting the nation, she noted that the government’s reset plan included the restructuring of DVLA’s services.
“We are resetting, and each and every one should get involved in the resetting motion of the President,” she said.
