Shaddad Umar Jallo, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) chairman for the Ashaiman Constituency, passed away.
He apparently complained of feeling ill before passing away in East Legon in the afternoon of Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Although the cause of death has not yet been officially determined, family members believe that high blood pressure-related problems may have played a role.
The National Zongo Caucus Coordinating Team of the NDC included Jallo, who was in his second term as constituency chairperson.
He was generally acknowledged for having played a crucial part in the party’s 2024 election campaign and for having helped the New Patriotic Party lose ground in Ashaiman.
Shaddad Umar Jallo is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman for the Ashaiman Constituency.
He collaborated extensively with the Zongo Caucus to increase support for the NDC in Muslim communities nationwide, in addition to his home area.
Speaking under anonymity, a family member claimed that Jallo was disappointed in his last days because the present Mahama administration had not made any political posts for Ashaiman residents, which he had fervently supported.
As per Islamic customs, he was laid to rest on Sunday, June 15, at 9:00 AM.
Jallo’s wife and eight children survive him.
