In Jacobu, in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region, a 14-year-old boy drowned in an abandoned mining mine.
The dead, Kwaku Ebella, went to the abandoned mining pit filled with water to swim, but in the process, he drowned, according to Hon. Stephen Sekyere, the assemblyman representing the Oseikrom electoral area.
The body was removed and taken to Jacobu St. Peters Hospital after an official complaint was filed with the Jacobu Police, where it was determined to be dead.
Since then, the body has been placed in the morgue at St. Peter’s Hospital while an autopsy is conducted.
