On Sunday, September 10, 2023, a massive fire decimated the Ashaiman Main Market, necessitating the valiant efforts of firefighters from multiple stations to put it out.

For a laborious two hours and thirty minutes, firefighters from the Motorway, Tema Metro, and Tema Industrial Area Fire Stations, as well as two water tankers from Tema RHQ and GHAPOHA Fire Department, battled the blaze.

About 40 shops and stalls, including metal containers used to sell millet, maize, and numerous other goods, were completely destroyed by the ferocious fire.

Despite the fire’s fury, the firefighters managed to contain, contain, and put out the flames in time to save an unspecified number of stores and goods.

There were no casualties attributed to the incident.

Although officials have already taken precautions, the precise origin of the fire is still being investigated.
