Shatta Wale’s recent remarks regarding the 2014 death of Fennec Okyere prompted artist manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bulldog or Bullgod, to file a writ against the musician.
The writ, which was submitted on Monday, November 7, asks the court to, among other things, force Shatta Wale to publish a retraction of his “defamatory” comments and to apologize without reservation for seven straight days.
Bulldog further demands that his former artist pay general, special, and punitive damages “for the deliberate publishing of lies against the Plaintiff.”
This comes after Shatta Wale’s recent Facebook post regarding how his former manager told him in 2014 of a plot to kill Mr. Okyere.
Since then, the Ghana Police Service’s Cold Case Unit has invited Shatta Wale, real name Charles Nii Armah Jr., for questioning.
Bulldog alleges in his legal filing that Shatta Wale’s recent publication implies that he (Bulldog) is “a criminal thug and a risk to society and needs to be in jail (rather than walk freely in the streets)”.
