Burkina Faso’s government has imposed a statewide embargo of fresh tomato exports until further notice to ensure enough supply for local processing firms.
Because of this, the issuing of Special Export Authorisations has been suspended, and exporters who have valid licenses are given a strict two-week window from the notice date to finish their shipments, after which their permissions would expire.
Seized tomatoes will be given away at no cost to nearby processing facilities, and any violation of this command will result in penalties under current legislation.
The public is urged to report infractions via official hotline numbers, and the government demands complete cooperation.
