Carlos Queiroz, the newly hired Black Stars head coach, will be officially presented on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
The seasoned Portuguese strategist takes over after Otto Addo was fired last month after Ghana lost to Germany and Austria in back-to-back matches leading up to the international competition.
Queiroz, a former head coach of Egypt, Portugal, and Colombia, will lead the Black Stars to the World Cup, which will take place in Canada, Mexico, and the United States in June and July.
The Ghana Football Association stated in a statement that Queiroz will speak to the media at the Alisa Hotel at 1:00 pm. It is anticipated that he will discuss his vision, technical philosophy, and short-term goals for the national team.
In addition to providing a formal introduction to the Ghanaian public, the unveiling will provide a chance to establish expectations for the World Cup campaign and promote coordination between the technical team, the media, and supporters.
As part of Ghana’s preparation for the event, Queiroz is expected to start working right away. On June 2, the team will play practice matches against Mexico and Wales.
Ghana will play in Group L at the World Cup.
They will play Panama on June 17, England on June 23, and Croatia on June 27.
The seasoned coach has a strong World Cup background, having managed Iran in both the 2014 and 2018 editions, led Portugal to the knockout stage in 2010, and helped South Africa qualify for the competition in 2002.
