Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), will travel to Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and Kenya from April 25 to May 4.
She will engage with decision-makers, businesspeople, and members of civil society, reiterating the WTO’s commitment to bolstering its support for Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Director-General will have many talks with Ghanaian officials in Accra. She will meet with Nana Akufo-Addo, the president.
The Institute of Economic Affairs is hosting a public debate on “Making Globalization Work for Africa,” in which she will participate.
Others from the commercial sector and civil society organizations will also speak to her.
The Director-General will meet with President Alassane Ouattara and representatives of the government of Côte d’Ivoire.
She will also participate in the ECOWAS Ministerial Round Table, which will be held on the subject of “Implementation of the outcomes of the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference, and success for MC13 — the role of ECOWAS WTO member countries.”

The UN Secretary General’s Chief Executives Board Meeting of UN and UN related organizations will take place in Kenya, and the Director-General will be there.
She’ll take advantage of the chance to meet with the Kenyan government as well.
