More than 14,400 DP stickers were issued by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in September 2025 alone.

This was a significant rise over the 1,800 monthly average that was previously in place. An important factor in this increase has been the implementation of tamper-proof DP stickers, which have improved the authenticity of vehicle data and addressed the problem of fraudulent car registration.

Because the new stickers are one-time security marks that cannot be taken off or transferred, they will help to curb unlawful car registration operations.

It is anticipated that this increase in stickers issued will improve DVLA revenue collection, which will then be used to fund service expansion and infrastructure improvements.

During his appearance before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, Julius Neequaye Kotey, the Chief Executive of the Driver and car Licensing Authority (DVLA), disclosed this noteworthy accomplishment in car registration security.

In an effort to increase accessibility, he also highlighted continuing partnerships with government organisations and the private sector to open additional registration offices near busy areas.
