The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has provided an update on the ongoing investigation involving suspect Nana Baffour Agyei Awuah, following his voluntary surrender to the state anti-corruption and economic crime agency.
According to EOCO, Nana Baffour Agyei Awuah voluntarily surrendered to the Office at about 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026. The Office said investigative, procedural and operational processes are currently ongoing.
EOCO stated that the suspect is cooperating with investigators as the necessary processes and procedures continue.
The Office explained that, in accordance with the constitutional timelines and legal requirements governing bail, it is working closely with the Office of the Attorney-General to have the suspect brought before a court during the weekend.
EOCO Denies GH¢50 Million Bail Reports
EOCO has also urged members of the public to disregard reports circulating in the media claiming that Nana Baffour Agyei Awuah has been granted GH¢50 million bail.
The Office said the information is false and does not reflect the current status of the investigation or legal proceedings.
EOCO has therefore appealed to the public to rely on official information regarding the case as investigative and judicial processes continue.
