Apologies have been extended to travelers impacted by the outage on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, during the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) check-in session by Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).
The business declared that an interruption to the check-in systems at Terminal 3 at Kennedy International Airport occurred on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at roughly 7:51 p.m. and persisted for almost one hour.
In a statement, the Airport Company in Accra stated that the problem caused minor delays in airline turnaround times and passenger processing.
As a result of current excavation work by Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) along Telecel Ghana Limited’s fiber network between Cantonments and Teshie Nungua, the disruption’s primary cause has been recognized as a fiber optic system breakdown.
It further stated, “Contrary to certain rumors, the disturbance was unrelated to a power loss (dumsor).
According to the statement, passengers received frequent updates via sporadic announcements and were swiftly informed of the situation.
Despite the initial difficulty, it was reported that things were well handled with the help of the backup internet service, enabling the airlines to eventually take off for their designated locations.
Passengers were reassured of its promise to offer seamless facilitation through every airport run by GACL.
