In Proverbs 16:7, the wise King Solomon tells us that when a man’s ways pleases the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Beloved, just as we have lovers, we have enemies too. Just as some love and will defend us for no reason, others may hate and destroy us just for the sake of it.
Not all who smile with us are good people and not all of us who go to church are really Christians. Some are truly wicked demons walking as human beings who deal with colleague human beings without mercy.
Many of us have lost opportunities to get great job offers, receive promotions and other major breakthroughs in life, simply because at the time of decision making, someone, justifiably or unjustifiably didn’t like us. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t be there to explain or beg, when a decision is being taken against us out of hatred. What is also dangerous is that , they won’t even let you know that they hate you that much.
So how do we fight to torpedo those who hate us and secretly work against us? We are admonished to live in peace with all men, because whatever God will do for us on earth, would be done through men and hence straining relations all the time, closes doors unnecessarily. But sometimes, we tend to live in peace with people who are at war with us in their heart, without we knowing.
Beloved we need not do anything wrong to attract haters. They will always be there and though we all err and ask for forgiveness, haters cannot forgive those they hate. The challenge is, not all can withstand this intense hatred. It’s only a few people who are able to ignore hatred. But among many, it occupies thoughts and makes one anxious and worried. It steals joy, peace and destroys mood, as it sometimes block or sabotage opportunities.
The solution to hatred doesn’t really lie in binding and casting and killing enemies through all-night prayer sessions. For, many of those who hate us today, are also human beings who God may one day, save. So you cannot kill them with your prayers. But there is one thing we all can do to stop them. We must simply walk in ways that please God. In this way, God will speak for us when haters speak to deny us opportunities. Indeed, we will escape evil plots and machinations from intransigent haters if our ways please God.
So, stop worrying about what others are doing against you, and rather focus on how your ways can please God. This gives you peace of mind, frustrates the work of haters and eventually brings them into peace with you. Let haters whose nostrils are filled with breath hate you, but let the almighty God love you and let’s see how hatred ends.
God bless us all.
