Gender Minister joins UNICEF-GHANA to mark World Children’s Day.

At an evening event in Accra, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, joined UNICEF-Ghana and partners in celebrating World Children’s Day.

In order to commemorate children and reaffirm promises to their growth and protection, the event brought together youth, government authorities, development partners, and the media.

The Minister stressed in her speech the importance of honoring, safeguarding, and preserving children of all ages, pointing out that in 60 years, today’s youth will be responsible for shaping society.

She urged ongoing funding for secure, caring settings that promote their development and well-being.

The Minister received a regional declaration on girls’ rights from a delegation of teenage girls who represented Ghana at the Adolescent Girls Summit in Dakar, Senegal.

She commended their activism and promised to collaborate with interested parties to spread the paper and incorporate its goals into national initiatives to assist females.

In order to protect children’s rights and build an inclusive future for all, the Minister called on stakeholders to work together.
