The Honourable Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, has formally established and swore in the Ghana Boundary Commission’s Governing Board. Yesterday, the Jubilee House hosted the short but solemn service.

Ministers of State and officials from important state agencies who were required to serve on the Board by the Ghana Boundary Commission Act 1123 of 2024 attended the occasion.

The newly established Governing Board is chaired by Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.

Mr. Julius Debrah emphasised in his speech how important Ghana’s international borders are to preserving the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

He stressed that boundary management involves more than just drawing imaginary lines; it also involves turning border areas into centres of socioeconomic growth.

The Chief of Staff called the Board a nerve hub of government and praised its interministerial makeup.

Mr. Debrah went on to list some of the Commission’s most significant accomplishments since it became active in 2021.

He called on the members to expand on such successes by utilising technology to further safeguard Ghana’s territorial interests.

In response, Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah thanked the Chief of Staff on behalf of the Board.

He restated the Board’s dedication to preserving H.E. President John Dramani Mahama’s vision.

The Governing Board of the Ghana Boundary Commission, he continued, will guarantee the defence, preservation, and long-term administration of Ghana’s international borders.
