In a Tuesday international friendly game played at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana defeated Liberia with ease.
Goals from Ernest Nuamah, Mohammed Kudus, and Jordan Ayew helped the Black Stars to a convincing victory in the second half.
Chris Hughton, the head coach of Ghana, made a number of adjustments to the squad that had earlier defeated the Central African Republic in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.
Ernest Nuamah, a young phenomenon who earned a starting spot after his outstanding performance in the previous game, debutants Abdul Fatawu Hamidu and Jonathan Sowah from Medeama SC, and Hamburger defender Stephan Ambrosius were among the notable newcomers.
Ghana took control of the game right away, and Liberia’s Boison Wynney made a great stop on one of their first chances in the second minute.

The Liberian attack was effectively halted by the Black Stars throughout the game as Liberia failed to register a single attempt on goal.
Seven minutes into the second half, Ernest Nuamah scored a spectacular goal to give Ghana the lead. After receiving a pass from Nuamah, Kudus, a recent addition to West Ham, successfully extended Ghana’s advantage with an outstanding effort from close range.
A second goal was added by replacement Jordan Ayew for Ghana off of a rebound, while Divine Rosevelt Teah scored a consolation goal for Liberia late in the game.
Following their match in the 2026 World Cup qualifications against Madagascar in November, Ghana’s next international friendly will be in October against the US Men’s Soccer Team.
