The 1,000 recipient girls have been encouraged to take a keen interest in information and communication technology (ICT) skills in order to empower themselves and remain connected to global opportunities by Prof. Hamida Dramani, Vice Chancellor of Dr Hilla Limann Technical University, who is the Chairperson for the Mentorship Session of the National Girls-In-ICT Program in the Upper West Region.

A crucial part of the Girls-In-ICT programme, the Mentorship Session encourages and mentors girls to pursue education and jobs in ICT and other STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines.

In her chairperson’s remarks, Prof. Dramani praised the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation for putting in place a game-changing programme that gives girls useful digital skills while encouraging leadership and mentoring.

She urged the attendees to be focused, self-assured, and resolute in directing their own lives in the quickly changing technologically driven world.

In addition, the session brought together mentors and successful women professionals from a variety of backgrounds who shared their knowledge, perspectives, and suggestions for overcoming obstacles and taking advantage of opportunities in the STEM and ICT fields.

The Ministry’s larger goal to close the gender digital divide, advance digital inclusiveness, and develop the next generation of Ghanaian women leaders in technology includes the Girls-In-ICT Program.
