The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has rejected social media reports claiming that the Service has failed to pay its personnel their 2025 rent allowance.

The GNFS described the reports as false and misleading, explaining that the final tranche of the 2025 rent allowance was fully paid in April 2026.

In a statement issued on Friday, August 21, 2026, the Fire Service said management had taken note of the information circulating online and urged its personnel and members of the public to disregard the claims.

According to the GNFS, the 2025 rent allowance payments have been completed, contrary to reports suggesting that personnel were still owed the allowance.

GNFS Provides Update on 2026 Rent Allowance

The Ghana National Fire Service also provided an update on the 2026 rent allowance, revealing that a committee has been established to facilitate the payment process.

The Service said the committee is working to ensure that the necessary processes are completed and the 2026 rent allowance is processed for personnel as soon as possible.

The GNFS thanked its personnel for their patience and assured them that management remains committed to addressing their welfare, compensation and other employment-related concerns.

Fire Service Warns Against Misinformation

The GNFS reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and open communication with its personnel and the general public.

Management encouraged staff and members of the public to rely on official GNFS communication for accurate information regarding rent allowances, employee welfare and other administrative matters.

The Service also appealed to the public to stop sharing the disputed social media report, describing it as misinformation that could create unnecessary concern among personnel and the public.
