The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has been recognised as the Public Relations (PR) Organisation of the Year 2025 in the Public Sector Category at the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana (IPR Ghana) Excellence Awards.

The prestigious award acknowledges the GRA’s commitment to professional public relations, effective corporate communication and strategic stakeholder engagement in carrying out its responsibilities as Ghana’s tax administration authority.

The award was presented during the 2026 National PR Summit, held in Koforidua from October 22 to 24. The three-day event brought together public relations professionals and industry stakeholders for conferences, research presentations, the institute’s Annual General Meeting and the Excellence Awards ceremony.

As a corporate member of IPR Ghana, the GRA considers strategic communication an essential tool for strengthening public confidence and maintaining positive relationships with taxpayers, the media, business organisations and other stakeholders.

Several members of the Authority’s Communication and Public Affairs (CPA) Department also belong to the professional institute, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to developing professional communication skills.

The recognition highlights the GRA’s investment in strengthening its public relations capacity to improve tax education, encourage voluntary tax compliance, promote transparency and enhance public understanding of government tax policies, programmes and revenue mobilisation activities.

Commenting on the achievement, the Deputy Commissioner of Communication and Public Affairs, Mrs Florence Asante, emphasised the importance of public relations in building institutional trust and strengthening stakeholder relationships.

She explained that public relations goes beyond publicity, describing it as a strategic management function that supports organisational objectives, promotes effective communication and contributes to management decision-making.

According to her, the award reinforces the need for continuous investment in communication professionals and their expertise to improve organisational performance.

The recognition further positions the Ghana Revenue Authority among public institutions receiving professional recognition for their corporate communication, public education and stakeholder engagement efforts.
