After 21 years of service, Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II, the Chief of Kade in the Eastern Region, has stepped down.
He thanked God for surviving “it all” and called his rule “tumultuous” in an impassioned statement.
Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II, who goes by William Kwame Apaw in private, made his announcement in front of the town’s elders on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Before formally turning over his written statement, the chief had informed his followers and other natives verbally that he was no longer their chief.
He decided to give “those who actively undermined my reign” a field day, according to his public message.
Statement stated, “I was enstooled as the chief of the Aduana I stool in April 2004. I would not want to tout the concrete developments I engineered in that sacred office. My tumultuous reign is well known and I thank God I survived it all.”
“I have decided to abdicate the stool after 21 years of being its occupant with the singular purpose that those who actively undermined my reign can now come together and seek the development and prosperity of Kademan and Okyenman.”
