President John Dramani Mahama has praised the strong financial performance of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), describing the institution’s achievements as evidence of the importance of building transparent, accountable and nationally beneficial structures around Ghana’s gold industry.
The President’s commendation highlights the growing importance of GoldBod in Ghana’s gold trade and its role in ensuring that the country derives greater economic value from its mineral resources.

GoldBod Chief Executive Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, Esq., also led Chief Executive Officers of various State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in pledging their commitment to improved efficiency, stronger institutional performance and sustainable growth.
The commitment was made at the 2026 SIGA Governing Boards & CEOs’ Conference, where leaders of state-owned institutions discussed strategies to improve corporate governance, operational efficiency and the overall performance of public enterprises.
The development comes as Ghana continues to focus on strengthening the management of its natural resources and improving the financial performance of state-owned enterprises to support economic growth and national development.
GoldBod’s reported financial performance and the renewed commitment by SOE leaders are expected to reinforce efforts to promote accountability, transparency, efficiency and sustainable development across Ghana’s public sector.
