The Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has started a monitoring tour to a few payment centers in the Greater Accra Region as part of her efforts to guarantee the efficient and open distribution of cash grants under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) Program.
Her commitment to oversee the distribution of the 94th and 95th LEAP payment cycles around the country is in line with this monitoring activity. The Minister spoke with payment agents and recipients during her visit to assess the process’ effectiveness and resolve any issues that arose.

The 94th and 95th LEAP cycles provide a combined payment to eligible households as follows:
One eligible member household: GHS 512.00
Two eligible member households: GHS 608.00
Three eligible member households: GHS 704.00
Four or more eligible member households: GHS 848.00

Speaking to reporters in Nungua (Krowor Constituency), Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey reaffirmed that the LEAP Program provides critical financial assistance to extremely low-income households with vulnerable individuals, such as orphans and vulnerable children, people with severe disabilities, elderly people 65 years of age and older, pregnant women, and nursing mothers with children under a year old.
While LEAP offers immediate financial assistance, she emphasized that beneficiaries should also aim for long-term financial stability and urged them to prioritize essential necessities including household nourishment, children’s education, and income-generating activities.
The Minister added that in order to confirm ongoing eligibility and provide room for additional vulnerable homes, the Ministry has started a thorough reassessment of beneficiary households.
The Ghana National Household Registry (GNHR), which supports this program, will improve the precision of identifying new beneficiaries through its continuous data collecting.
She urged the media to be crucial in raising awareness of the program’s effects and encouraging accountability and openness in the distribution process.
The Minister underlined the government’s commitment to enhancing social protection programs and enhancing the standard of living for those who are most at risk.

The Ministry’s main program, the LEAP Program, gives extremely impoverished households cash assistance every two months to help them with basic necessities.
Reaching thousands of recipients nationwide is the goal of the current 94th and 95th payment cycles.
A nationwide initiative to guarantee that all qualified recipients receive their cash awards includes the Minister’s monitoring visit to Greater Accra.
