The National Service Authority (NSA) has released PIN codes for 121,754 prospective National Service Personnel for the 2026/2027 national service year, officially opening the registration process for eligible graduates across Ghana.
The PIN codes were released on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, for graduates from accredited tertiary institutions. The NSA has urged all eligible applicants to complete their online registration within the stipulated deadline to avoid delays in deployment.
In a statement signed by NSA Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh, the Authority disclosed that tertiary institutions submitted 144,023 records for national service mobilisation. Of these, 122,712 records were approved, representing 121,754 unique individuals.
However, 21,311 submissions were withheld pending additional identity verification. The NSA also indicated that 958 approved records were not promoted because the relevant records are yet to be created and require further verification.
The Authority said it conducted extensive validation and verification exercises in collaboration with relevant regulatory bodies to ensure that only qualified graduates from accredited tertiary institutions are mobilised for national service.
The verification measures are also designed to eliminate duplicate, inflated and irregular records while protecting the credibility and integrity of Ghana’s national service registration system.
NSA National Service Registration Deadline
Online registration for the 2026/2027 national service year commenced on August 12, 2026, and will close on August 26, 2026.
Prospective National Service Personnel are required to access and activate their PIN codes through the NSA registration portal before completing the enrolment process. Applicants must also pay the applicable registration fee via Mobile Money (MoMo) on all major networks to activate their PIN codes and gain access to the registration platform.
Applicants will undergo facial biometric verification against their Ghana Card records with the National Identification Authority (NIA) before they can access the online registration system.
They are also required to provide a valid GhanaPost GPS address to support accurate deployment and proximity-based postings.
The NSA said real-time verification systems have been integrated into the registration platform to improve data accuracy and help prevent fraudulent enrolment.
Military Training and Agriculture Deployment
As part of reforms to the National Service Programme, selected applicants will have the opportunity to participate in the next phase of the pre-deployment military orientation programme.
The initiative forms part of President John Dramani Mahama’s policy to integrate Basic Military Training into the National Service Programme. Applicants interested in the programme can indicate their willingness to participate during online registration.
The NSA clarified that participation in the military orientation programme will not affect a person’s subsequent deployment to their assigned user agency.
Prospective National Service Personnel will also be able to participate in the NSA Agriculture Deployment Programme, which seeks to encourage young people to enter agriculture while supporting Ghana’s food security, agribusiness and agricultural development agenda.
Successful applicants under the programme will be deployed to designated agricultural project sites for the duration of their mandatory national service.
Who Qualifies for National Service in Ghana?
The NSA reminded the public that under Section 29(1) of the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), a person qualifies to undertake national service if they are a Ghanaian citizen who has completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution.
Eligible graduates are therefore encouraged to activate their PIN codes and complete the 2026/2027 national service registration before the August 26 deadline.
