Olam Agri Ghana has donated GH¢100,000 to support the organisation of the 42nd National Farmers’ Day celebration, which is scheduled to take place on December 4, 2026, in Sunyani, Bono Region.
The financial contribution was officially presented on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Accra.
Receiving the donation, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, expressed his appreciation to Olam Agri Ghana for supporting the annual celebration, which recognises the important role of farmers in Ghana’s economy and food production.
The minister also encouraged Olam Agri Ghana to actively participate in the 2026 National Farmers’ Day celebration in Sunyani. He invited the company to exhibit its agricultural products and highlight its contribution to Ghana’s farming sector and agricultural development.
Speaking on behalf of Olam Agri Ghana, the company’s Country Head, Baibhav Biswas, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural development in Ghana.
He said the company remains focused on contributing to Ghana’s food security, supporting farmers and strengthening the agricultural value chain.
The 42nd National Farmers’ Day will be celebrated under the theme:
“Our Farmers, Our Food, Our Future.”
National Farmers’ Day remains an important occasion for recognising the contribution of farmers, fisherfolk and other stakeholders to Ghana’s agriculture sector, food security and economic development.
