The public has been urged by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to only purchase packaged and bottled water that has been authorized by the Authority.
The Authority urged the general public to confirm before buying that packaged/bottled drinking water and all other products are registered using the appropriate platform (https://bit/ProPerFDA Verify) and the product label.
The warning comes in response to a video that an unidentified user released on social media in which they claimed that certain bottled water brands had pH levels outside of the acceptable range, making them dirty and unfit for consumption.

However, the FDA clarified in a statement that the Ghana Standards Authority and the World Health Organization recommend a pH range for drinking water of 6.5 to 8.5. In other words, bottled and packaged water that has been registered with the Authority and has a pH value within this range is safe to drink.
