President John Dramani Mahama was formally invited to attend the last funeral ceremonies of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who sent a team this morning.
The royal funeral will be held in Kumasi’s Manhyia Palace from September 15 to 18, 2025.
Amoamanhene Nana Agyenim Boateng was the leader of the delegation. I gave President Mahama the invitation when I paid him a courtesy call at the Accra Presidency.
President Mahama acknowledged the tremendous loss and sent his sincere sympathies to the Asantehene and Asanteman on the Asantehemaa’s demise.
The President gave the delegation his word that he would definitely go to the burial and give the late Asantehemaa his last respects.
On August 7, 2025, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who was 98 years old, passed away.
