The public has been reassured by the Ghana Police Service that adequate security measures have been implemented to uphold law and order and guarantee peace and security prior to, during, and following the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries, which take place tomorrow, Saturday, November 4, 2023.
The law enforcement organization said in a statement that enough police officers had been stationed across the nation to ensure election security.
At every voting location, police body cameras will be installed as an extra security measure.
The Police Service met with representatives of the flagbearer candidates, the NPP Presidential Election Committee, and the Electoral Commission in a series of stakeholder engagements as part of the security arrangement.
The police also reassured the public that they are still dedicated to cooperating with all relevant parties to ensure law and order, security, and peace during the election.
The NPP flagbearer will be chosen by more than 200,000 delegates nationally through voting.
Francis Addai-Nimo, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are the contenders.
