The formal Bawku Mediation Report will be presented to President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at a ceremony held in Accra’s Jubilee House.
The presentation is an important step in the country’s attempts to bring about long-term peace and stability in Bawku and the surrounding areas.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has been in the forefront of efforts to end the long-standing tensions in the region, and the report represents months of mediation.
Senior government officials, traditional rulers, members of the mediation committee, and other notable visitors will be present at the ceremony, which starts at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
It is anticipated to highlight the common determination of state agencies, religious institutions, traditional institutions, and development partners to improve social cohesion in the area.
The National Peace Council, the Christian Council, the Office of the National Chief Imam, the Catholic Secretariat, UNDP, the British High Commission, and important regional leaders like the Ministers for the Upper East and North East Regions, as well as members of the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs and the National Security apparatus, are among the institutions invited.
