Prophet Kumchacha, founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministries International, has expressed frustration with some National Democratic Congress (NDC) officials, accusing them of ignoring his phone calls despite seeking his support while the party was in opposition.
Speaking in an interview on Aluta FM, the outspoken Ghanaian preacher claimed that several ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), senior party executives and chief executives of state institutions appointed under President John Dramani Mahama had become difficult to reach.
According to Prophet Kumchacha, some NDC leaders who previously maintained contact with him have stopped responding to his calls since the party returned to power.
He expressed concern about what he described as a lack of attention to people facing financial hardship, arguing that public officials should remain accessible and responsive to the needs of ordinary Ghanaians.
“Some ministers, MPs, top NDC leaders and state CEOs, when we call you, you should answer our calls. I’m tired. Some people are eating while others are going hungry,” he said.
Kumchacha Praises Eric Opoku, Sammy Gyamfi and Eric Adjei
Despite his criticism of some government officials, Prophet Kumchacha identified Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku, GoldBod Chief Executive Officer Sammy Gyamfi and National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) CEO Eric Adjei as individuals who, according to him, continue to respond to his calls.
He described the three officials as exceptions, claiming that they remain accessible and have sometimes used their personal resources to support people experiencing financial difficulties.
His comments highlighted his concerns about public officials’ accessibility, social responsibility and willingness to assist people in need.
Prophet Kumchacha Says He Has Not Benefited from Mahama Government
Prophet Kumchacha also disclosed that he had not personally received any benefits from the Mahama administration since it assumed office.
Although he expressed dissatisfaction with his experience, the founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministries International maintained a positive personal assessment of President John Dramani Mahama.
“John Mahama, as a person, is very good, but I have not benefited in any way from this government since it came into office,” he stated.
His remarks have drawn attention to the relationship between religious leaders and political figures in Ghana, particularly discussions about political support, public accountability and expectations of accessibility after elections.
The comments also raise broader questions about how government officials engage with citizens, political supporters and individuals seeking assistance amid continuing concerns about economic hardship and the cost of living in Ghana.
