President John Dramani Mahama has cut the groundwork for the New Float Glass Manufacturing Company in Shama, Western Region.

This, he claims, is a big step toward Ghana’s industrial development plan.

At the occasion, which was organised by KEDA (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited, President Mahama also inaugurated the fifth phase of the company’s Tile Production Line and commissioned a modern sanitary goods facility.

When fully operational, the float glass facility would create 1,400 tonnes of glass per day, making it one of the largest in Africa.

The project is anticipated to enhance local supply chains, create sustainable job opportunities, lower imports, and produce an estimated $100 million in exports annually, all while making a substantial tax contribution to the national coffers.

Management and employees were asked by President Mahama to regard the factory as their own.

He went on to say that when the government maintains stability, investors supply money, and communities form solid partnerships, Ghana’s industrialisation will be successful.

With expertise, creativity, and unwavering quality, Ghanaian-made goods can compete on a global scale, the president reiterated.
