Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has officially recalled Parliament from its ongoing recess to consider urgent government business and pressing parliamentary matters that require immediate attention.
The recall was contained in a formal notice issued on August 12, 2026, in accordance with the powers vested in the Speaker under Order 58(4) of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana.
According to the notice, Members of Parliament (MPs) will return to the Parliament House in Accra at 12:00 noon on Monday, August 24, 2026. The special sitting is scheduled to continue until Friday, August 28, 2026.
During the recalled session, lawmakers are expected to deliberate on urgent national issues, government requests and parliamentary business that cannot be delayed until the next regular sitting.
