The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Management and Board paid a courtesy call on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi ahead of the Centre’s upcoming Ashanti Regional Investment Forum, which is part of the Centre’s nationwide Investment Opportunities Mapping Project.

Dr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu, Chairman of the GIPC Board, led the group, which comprised the CEO, Mr. Simon Madjie, Deputy CEO, Mr. Abdul Razak Baba, Board Member Madam Mercy Afrowa Needjan, and members of management and staff.

The purpose of the visit was to formally update the Asantehene on the Centre’s plans to promote investment prospects in the Ashanti Region, as well as to seek his blessings and advise ahead of the forum.

On behalf of the Asantehene, Nana Dwamena Akenten II, the Paramount Chief of Offinso, and Nana Kofi Badu, the Chief of Staff at Manhyia Palace, welcomed the GIPC delegation.

Dr. Opong-Fosu reiterated the Center’s dedication to decentralising investment promotion and putting investors in touch with local prospects during the interaction.

He noted that the upcoming forum will bring together stakeholders, traditional authorities, and business leaders to highlight opportunities across sectors including manufacturing, agribusiness, tourism, and mining.

The forum, according to Mr. Madjie, is a component of GIPC’s larger goal of mapping and promoting investment opportunities throughout Ghana’s sixteen regions in order to advance sustainable and balanced economic development.

Nana Dwamena Akenten II, speaking on behalf of the Asantehene, praised GIPC for expanding its investment promotion initiatives outside of the nation’s capital, characterising the program as relevant and significant for realising the economic potential of the Ashanti Region.
