Hon. Clement Abass Apaak, the Deputy Minister for Education, greeted HRH Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, emphasized Ghana’s robust collaboration with the United Kingdom, particularly in promoting play-based Early Childhood Education (ECE).

He pointed out that play is still the best method for young children to gain self-assurance, curiosity, literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills.

HRH visited demonstration classrooms, watched a play-based kindergarten session, and was briefed on how Sabre Education, with funding from the UK Government, is assisting in providing teachers in the Eastern Region with cutting-edge, child-centered ECE skills.

Ghana intends to expand this strategy across the country between 2025 and 2028.

In recognition of the UK government’s assistance to Ghana’s education sector, the Duke also erected a plaque.
