An ambitious new income target of GHS 1.03 billion by the end of 2026 has been established by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA). This represents a predicted 60% increase from the current GHS 649 million.

At the Authority’s 2025 Mid-Year Review Conference, DVLA Board Chairman George Spencer Quaye established the goal and urged employees to continue providing services with excellence and accountability.

“The DVLA is more than an Authority; it is a custodian of life, a guardian of order, and a driver of national development. Let us not just manage transport; let us redefine it,” Mr. Quaye said.

“Corruption will not be tolerated. Every cedi due the Republic must enter the national coffers,” he warned.

A forceful warning against financial misconduct was also given by him, emphasizing the need to account for every cedi owed to the Republic.

Key participants at the ceremony included DVLA Board members, Chief Executive Julius Neequaye Kotey, his deputies, management, and Authority employees, as well as Deputy Minister of Transportation Mr. Dorcas Affo-Toffey.

Mr. Quaye thanked all parties involved for their commitment and asked them to cooperate in order to meet the new goal, which he called a daring move in redefining Ghanaian transport management.
