The High Court issues a 10-day interim injunction to stop the funeral of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

The High Court in Accra has issued a 10-day interim order preventing the planned funeral and burial rites for the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

All funeral arrangements that were planned for July 30 and 31, 2026, are temporarily suspended by the court’s decision while the case is being decided.

The injunction prohibits the Kristo Asafo Mission and all parties involved in the funeral plans from carrying out the burial and associated ceremonies until the court order expires or the court issues another decision.

It took some time to reveal the reasoning for the application that resulted in the injunction.

The two-day state-recognized funeral for the founder and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, is scheduled to draw thousands of mourners. Kantanka passed away earlier this year.
