The Ministry of Education honoured exceptional teachers nationwide on World Teachers’ Day with a lavish celebration at the Ghana Teacher Prize 2025 ceremony in the Volta region in Ho.
Vice President H.E. Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who was the special guest of honour, praised educators for their commitment and selflessness and promised the government’s ongoing assistance to enhance their working circumstances.
In addition to praising educators, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, the minister of education, reiterated the government’s commitment to improving welfare through the Reset Agenda. He cautioned that there will be no tolerance for wrongdoing and urged all educators to maintain professionalism.

Ghanaian Teachers’ Prize Winners for 2025:
Most Outstanding Teacher – Richard W. Tiimob (Savelugu SHS) – 3-bedroom house
1st Runner-up – Sabina Ferguson-Haizel (Archbishop Andoh R/C Basic) – 4×4 Pickup
2nd Runner-up – Leticia Yawa Akabutoo (St Catherine SHS) – Saloon Car
Among the other recipients were:
Outstanding College Lecturer – Emmanuel Kofi Otchere-Larbi – 4×4
Best in Leadership & Admin – Michael Mensah Annang – Saloon car
Best Non-Teaching Staff – Gifty Kwakoa Afari – Saloon car
