The National Service Authority (NSA) has advised all National Service Personnel (NSPs) posted to institutions affiliated with the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) to continue reporting for duty notwithstanding the association’s ongoing strike action.

CLOGSAG initiated industrial action on March 9, 2026, in response to the government’s apparent failure to improve working conditions.

The National Labour Commission (NLC) called both parties to a hearing on March 11, but CLOGSAG’s leadership declined to appear. The hearing has been set until March 18, 2026.

In a statement made on Thursday, March 12, 2026, the NSA confirmed that National Service Personnel are not members of CLOGSAG and so are not participating in the strike.

“The National Service Authority wishes to inform all National Service Personnel currently deployed to institutions under CLOGSAG that they are not parties to the ongoing industrial action declared by the association,” the statement mentioned.

All impacted employees are urged to continue reporting to their designated workplaces and performing their jobs as needed, the authority emphasised.

The announcement further stated that “all National Service Personnel serving in institutions under CLOGSAG are required to continue reporting to their respective places of posting and perform their assigned duties,”

NSPs were exhorted by NSA management to continue fulfilling their national service responsibilities and to assist the organisations to which they are assigned.

The authority thanked staff members for their collaboration and dedication to national development, saying, “Management, therefore, urges all affected NSPs to remain dedicated to their national duty and offer their services in support of the institutions to which they have been assigned.”
