PR & COMMS UPDATES – MOTAI
Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare has received praise from President John Dramani Mahama of the Republic of Ghana for her excellent work and performance in her role as Minister of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry.
On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the President gave the commendation during a number of business meetings in Shama, Western Region.
A modern sanitary goods factory was put into service, the fifth phase of the company’s tile production line was inaugurated, and KEDA (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited held a sod-cutting ceremony for a new float glass manufacturing facility.
These initiatives are a part of the government’s larger plan to enhance Ghana’s industrial base, encourage value addition, and increase local manufacturing through investments in large-scale production facilities and strategic alliances.

President Mahama emphasised the Ministry’s vital role in promoting industrial growth, drawing in investment, and generating employment, pointing out that Ghana’s trade and industrialisation push has greatly advanced under Hon. Ofosu-Adjare’s leadership.
In addition to lowering building material imports and establishing Ghana as a major manufacturing hub in the subregion, the development of KEDA Ceramics’ operations in Shama is anticipated to generate a significant number of job opportunities.
President Mahama referred to the investment as a significant turning point in Ghana’s industrial transformation plan when speaking at the event.
“This investment is important because it marks another significant step in our country’s industrial transformation plans,” he stated.
He highlighted that the new facility is a welcome addition to the manufacturing line of KEDA (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited, which has been in Ghana for a long time.

The president claims that the new glass factory will drastically cut imports by producing 1,400 tonnes of glass every day.
It is anticipated to boost regional supply chains, produce long-term job possibilities, and produce an estimated $100 million in export revenue annually.
The management of KEDA (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited was praised by Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, who called their investment in Ghana’s industrial development “bold and visionary.”
She reaffirmed that President Mahama has stated unequivocally that “Ghana is open for business” and urged private sector companies involved in agro-processing, digital infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, clothing and textiles, and other industries to expand their relationships and presence in Ghana.
Hon. was also commended by Mr. Li Wei, Managing Director of KEDA Ceramics Ghana, and Mr. Shen Yanchang, Chairman of Twyford Group. Ofosu-Adjare for her aggressive involvement and vision in helping the business.
They assured stakeholders that the corporation will continue to carefully comply to environmental regulations and reaffirmed its commitment to Ghana.
