Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Ghana’s finance minister, met with Ajay Banga, president of the World Bank Group, at a high level with the goal of enhancing collaboration and opening up new avenues for the nation’s development strategy.
Held in conjunction with the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings, the meeting’s main objective was to increase support for both new projects aimed at hastening Ghana’s economic reform and continuing World Bank-financed programs.
Mr. Banga and Dr. Forson decided to give priority to five key areas where increased World Bank assistance will have the biggest effects on Ghana’s economy and people.
Agriculture, roads, energy, health, and education are the sectors were discussed.
