Twelve suspects have been taken into custody by the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) Headquarters for the possession and transit of 598 BB cartridge boxes in the Eastern Region’s Nsakye neighbourhood, which is close to Nsawam.
The suspects were caught while loading the ammo into a specially constructed compartment in the DAF articulated truck driven by Emmanuel Tsornyake (registered EN 792-19), Ofori Jumbo, Paul Darko, Charles Laryea, Theophilus Laryea, and George Teye.
Billy Gamati, Eric Danquah, and Noah Tretsu were all taken into custody on suspicion of complicity. On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, an intelligence-driven operation resulted to the arrest.

According to preliminary investigations, the suspects hid 281 empty cartons and 317 live cartridge cartons inside the trailer in order to evade discovery.
After verifying intelligence that the vehicle was being used to remove munitions from the farm, the operation team moved quickly.
Three further suspects were apprehended as a result of further investigations. Ebenezer Okyere identified the cartridges’ owner as Samuel Kwadjo Baffoe.
After being apprehended at Amasaman, suspect Baffoe named a Gloria Bartels as his supply. He further revealed that he provided ammo to Tony and Chika, two Nigerians, for export to Nigeria.
All twelve accused will appear in court and are now being held by the police to aid in investigations.
