Ghana is celebrating its 41st National Farmers’ Day today, December 5, 2025.

This year’s festivities began on Monday, December 1, at the Ho Sports Stadium with the start of the 2025 National Agricultural Fair, which gathered thousands of farmers, agripreneurs, policymakers, investors, and exhibitors from all across the country.

Held under the theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future,” the event kicks off a week-long demonstration of agricultural innovation, technology, and strategic collaborations aimed at strengthening Ghana’s food systems and enhancing sector resilience.

President John Dramani Mahama will honor the nation’s top farmers in a variety of crop categories and other important agricultural fields today.

Additionally, thousands of Ghanaians are anticipated to take part in national, regional, and local events where exceptional farmers will be recognized for their superiority in productivity, inventiveness, and community effect.

Since the Ministry of Food and Agriculture established Farmers’ Day in 1988, the first Friday in December has been designated to honor farmers and fishermen for their contributions to the country’s food supply and to acknowledge the crucial role that a robust agricultural sector plays in the prosperity of Ghana’s economy.
