Ghana is set to roll out artificial intelligence (AI) tools in local languages as part of efforts to transform the country’s education sector, following a strategic partnership between the Government of Ghana and global technology firm, Google.

The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, said the initiative is aimed at expanding access to quality education, particularly for learners in rural communities and persons living with disabilities.

He announced the development at the ongoing Generative AI Summit in the United Kingdom, where he disclosed that he held high-level discussions with Google’s Vice President on leveraging AI to strengthen education delivery in Ghana and across Africa.
