The Black Stars of Ghana have resumed training ahead of their second Group C fixture in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against The Gambia.
The Ghana national team returned to the training ground on Saturday, September 26, 2026, following their arrival from Bouaké, where they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Côte d’Ivoire in their opening Group C match on Thursday.

Head coach Carlos Queiroz and his technical team have shifted their attention to the upcoming Ghana vs Gambia AFCON 2027 qualifier, with the Black Stars aiming to respond strongly in their next group match.
Saturday’s training session focused on recovery and tactical preparations. Players who featured in the starting lineup against Côte d’Ivoire underwent recovery exercises, while the rest of the squad participated in more intensive tactical drills.
The coaching staff is expected to use the remaining training sessions to assess the squad and make the necessary adjustments ahead of the crucial encounter.
Ghana vs Gambia AFCON 2027 Qualifier
Ghana will host The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, with kick-off scheduled for 4:00 pm.
The Black Stars will be looking to secure a positive result on home soil as they continue their campaign to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Following the defeat in Côte d’Ivoire, attention has now turned to securing points against the Scorpions and strengthening Ghana’s position in AFCON 2027 Group C.
